After our delightful stay at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites, we decided to explore other service apartments in Singapore. Most serviced suites require minimum 3 nights before you can make a booking and Ascott Orchard Singapore is one of the few that allow 1 night stay.
We booked the room for S$312.30 per night. It is significantly more expensive than Pan Pacific Serviced Suites (~S$250)… probably due to the fact that it’s located in Orchard.
The service apartment is located right besides Paragon Shopping Mall. In fact, there is a sheltered walkway (level 2 near Metro) connected directly Paragon Shopping Mall to the entrnace of the apartment via the seluded carpark.
This apartment is very convenient in terms of accessibility. I can easily find 7-11, Guardian and supermarket without getting out in the sun.
The design of the apartment is modern and sleek. As usual, we spent most of our time in the living room watching Netflix on the big TV. If you prefer to chill in the bed, there is a TV in the bedroom too.
We had to draw the curtain because there was a construction site directly opposite of our room. The construction workers would probably be able to watch our TV if we didn’t draw the curtain. I thought that we should be informed at the reception that we might have to face the construction workers but we were not told about it.
Oh, we were only given the room approximately 1.5hr after the official check-in time at 3.00PM. We arrived at 4.00 PM only to realise we still have to wait for another 30 mintues for the room to be ready. The best part? The hotel staff asked if we were alright to get a room without the bathtub.
I find this really ridiculous because we have already paid for a room with bathtub. It is basically asking if we want to downgrade our room even though we have already paid for a higher price. I was almost tempted to ask her if she’s going to refund me the difference if I downgrade my room. We are also eligible for executive lounge access but we were not briefed about it. Oh well.
The bathtub is really huge. If you have kids, I think it’s the perfect place to let them play with their rubber ducks. It can easily fit 1 adult and 2 young kids in the tub.
There aren’t much pictures for this review post since we were raging that day. The kitchen comes with an oven, induction cooker and all the basic equipments (e.g. pots and knife).
Overall, our experience with their service screw is below average and personally we didn’t really like the apartment. Given a choice again, we will rather stay in Pan Pacific Serviced Suites. Objectively, this apartment is definitely great for tourists or whoever who are looking for a convenient location to stay in Singapore. It’s near to shopping malls and you can easily get to the train station to travel around the city.
